Firewall Solutions

Recently a customer with a "Firewall" was compromised. Affter furthure inspection of their network many security flaws were addressed. The firewall was a Linksys Router with NAT. The customer did not understand this was not a certified firewall, and that it only addressed incoming network traffic. The Router did not address outgoing traffic.

Why is blocking outgoing traffic important? Since viruses, trojans, and worms could possibly put key stroke tracking, send out keystrokes and files through your PC, it is important to block outgoing traffic.
